Perpetuating the system? I don't want to be a part of this. How to instill change without conforming to the rest.. how to avoid cynicism, desensitization, and apathy?
Kids will be kids. I think I have trouble understanding this sometimes. I've been struggling to identify what exactly is the problem with this system - the kids, the parents, the environment, the teachers, the administration?

Don't know much to say because I haven't been in the thick of things...but perhaps it is good to remember that you are not responsible for all of their education, while making sure that it doesn't make you any less passionate about teaching them not only math/architecture, but also values and characters that made you successful.
In some ways, it is not too different from praying for our friends who are not saved...even if the window of opportunity seems shorter. Seems.
